Welcome to New Leaf – A Community Resource by CAASA
Welcome to New Leaf, a furniture store owned by CAASA, dedicated to serving the Cherokee community and beyond for over 30 years. We’re proud to be a welcoming, safe, and supportive space for all – from individuals in need of affordable, quality furniture to those facing crisis situations. Every item at New Leaf is donated, and every purchase directly supports CAASA’s mission to aid survivors of sexual assault and provide critical community services.
Our Story - Growing with the Community
New Leaf began over three decades ago as a small operation with a big heart. Thanks to a wonderful grant and the generosity of a couple from the community, we recently moved to a brand new 5,000 sq. ft. building in December 2023. Built on donated land, this location provides increased visibility within the community and an opportunity to better serve all 19 counties CAASA supports. Our larger space allows us to offer an even greater variety of items – from living room and children’s furniture to kitchen and holiday décor. You never know what you’ll find at New Leaf, and each item is another way to support those who need it most.
Our Mission - Turning Donations into Hope
New Leaf is here to offer a helping hand. Our purpose extends beyond providing affordable furniture; we are a safe haven for individuals facing tough times. Our proceeds fund CAASA’s life-changing work, allowing us to assist survivors of sexual assault as they rebuild their lives. If a survivor is in need of furniture when relocating, New Leaf provides it for free. And when disasters like the recent NW Iowa floods strike, we’re here to help local families get back on their feet by providing essential items.
Every sale supports CAASA’s vital services, from advocacy to emergency assistance.

Community Resilience - Here When You Need Us Most
New Leaf is more than a store; it’s a lifeline. This year, NW Iowa faced devastating floods, and New Leaf responded by helping impacted families furnish their homes. We’re proud to be part of a strong, resilient community, and we’re committed to continuing our support for those who need it most, whether they’re rebuilding from a flood, a fire, or any personal hardship.

Our store wouldn’t be possible without our dedicated volunteers. From sorting donations to greeting customers, our volunteers work long hours to make New Leaf a welcoming, supportive space.
