Sexual Assault Awareness Month

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month a time to raise our voices, stand with survivors, and strengthen our commitment to prevention, education, and support across Northwest Iowa. At CAASA, this month is especially meaningful as we come together with our communities to honor survivors, promote healing, and ensure that no one feels alone.

Throughout April, you will see teal ribbons displayed across towns in Northwest Iowa. These ribbons are a visible reminder that survivors are supported, believed, and never alone. We are incredibly grateful to the many communities who allow us to place these symbols of hope throughout their towns.

Wear Teal Day – April 7
Join us by wearing Teal to show your support for survivors of sexual assault. Together, we can spark conversations, raise awareness, and show solidarity. 💙 Send us a photo of you, your workplace, or your group in teal we’d love to feature and celebrate our community standing with survivors.  To add your photo, click here:  https://www.caasaonline.org/wear-teal-day

Advocate Training Day – April 8
Our advocates will be participating in a full day of training to continue strengthening their knowledge, skills, and response to better serve survivors across our 19 counties. This ongoing education ensures we are providing the highest level of support and advocacy to those we serve.

Denim Day – April 29
Wear denim on this day as a visible statement of support for survivors and a stand against victim-blaming. Your participation helps raise awareness and shows survivors they are heard, believed, and supported.
